Welcome to the faq page of our online giving. Here you will find information on how this process works. If you have questions or need help with setting your etithe up, please email webmaster@cgrovebc.com.
A new opportunity for giving is being provided through the ministry of Chinquapin Grove Baptist Church. It is called "Online" giving. It is a new and simple way to prioritize and expedite your personal plan for giving. What does the Bible say about giving? Giving is a vital part of spiritual formation and maturity. It requires two things of us:
FAITH Giving is an active expression of our faith. It recognizes God as our True Provider. It affirms our confidence in His ability to supply all we need and is an act of gratitude and dependence. It allows us to partner with God and His work through our church and in the world.
FAITHFULNESS Giving requires the highest standard of personal integrity and discipline. In 2 Corinthians 8:9, the Bible teaches that we are to give willingly, generously and cheerfully. In Malachi 3:10, we learn God's standard of the tithe or first tenth being set apart in all of our earnings as a gift to God. Through our tithes and offerings, we prove faithful in the stewardship of all God has provided for us.
How does "Online" giving work?
Simply click on the Give Online link provided on each page and you may “Set up an Account” or choose “One Time Gift”. Setting up a personal account will provide you with a convenient way to make regular or recurring offerings and to keep track of your previous gifts. If you choose to set up an account you may do the following:•Set up your personal account: In order to establish your online giving plan, you must first set up a secure personal account.
•Determine your gift: You will determine the amount and frequency of your offerings to the General or Mission Funds of Glenwood. You will also have the choice to go to another page for specific event opportunity payments. You will be asked to specify whether your gift is intended as regular giving or designated to some of the specific missions or ministries of the church. Please remember that your recurring gift can be changed, adjusted or discontinued at any time.
•Determine how you would like to pay for your gift: You will be asked to enter your credit card, debit card or Bank Draft/E-Check information. The history of your gifts given online will be available to you by selecting the appropriate link once you are logged into your account. All gifts through the Glenwood website are administered by SimpleGive, not by the church office. Your private information will not be available to the church staff.About online giving fees
You will receive credit for every dollar you give. Some have asked how much credit card transactions cost Chinquapin Grove. When you use a credit card, the cost to the church is 1.5% to 3.0% in processor fees per transaction, depending on the card used.
The cost for online checking account debits is $0.25 per transaction. This is the preferred method of online giving. Many people use credit cards for all expenditures, to help with record keeping, or to gain rewards or bonuses. But credit card debt is a great temptation and a problem we do not encourage. Please do not make gifts with a credit card if you are unable to pay off your credit card every month.
If you have any questions, please email webmaster@cgrovebc.com. We hope you take advantage of this convenient and easy way to make your gifts to Chinquapin Grove Baptist Church, and we thank you so much for your faithful stewardship.
What is SimpleGive?
SimpleGive provides churches and non-profit organizations the ability to accept online giving. Churches can also take payments for church camp, conferences, building programs and other preconfigured accounts. Churches can setup a way for members to help victims of a natural disaster like Katrina within minutes. How do I use Online Giving?
We have created an instructions page for you. Click Here to see this page. You will need Adobe Reader. What are the different types of payments we can take with SimpleGive?
SimpleGive takes Visa, MasterCard, Discover and Personal Checks (echeck/bankdraft).Can I setup recurring tithes?
Yes, you can setup multiple recurring tithes and do one-time tithes. How will I know a tithe has been made?
You will receive an email receipt and the church will receive an email to give you credit for the tithe.Since transactions go through SimpleGive, how soon does the money go into the church’s account after you take out the transaction fee?
Money from Credit Card/Check Card transactions are deposited into the church’s account that night. Money from ACH (e-check) transactions take a few days to be deposited into the church’s account. The reason for the delay in ACH is for verification that the funds are there, whereas Credit Cards/Check Cards have real-time validation of availability of funds. Bankdraft/Echeck transactions are the preferred method at Chinquapin Grove Baptist Church. FYI – SimpleGive never has possession of the funds. They go straight from the user’s bank to your organizations bank. What happens if you question a Withdrawal?
If you question a withdrawal, SimpleGive will work with you to determine if it was legitmate of not. If it is not, then we can suspend the account and take a look at our anti-fraud measures again. For disputed transactions, we will have the ability to process credits.Who is liable for card information and cleaning up the mess if cyber theft takes place?
This is not an easy question to answer. If SimpleGive was at fault for a data breach, then SimpleGive would be liable. Credit Card Companies and Merchant Account providers take a great deal of precautions to protect their accounts and provide assurance against fraud. All single transactions are processed over a 256 bit transaction encryption from the users computer to the merchant. Once the transaction is done, all sensitive data is immediately deleted upon processing. If a hacker did get in to the system (say they stole a high level password) they would still have to find the data, and then if they did come across the data it would look like a big pile of garbage. They would then need to decrypt this pile of garbage and if (big IF) they are able to decrypt it, they have a pile of numbers they would need to match up with names and addresses stored in a separate place before they would be able to charge a card. What happens if there are insufficient funds in a payment?
Credit Cards/Check Cards do real time validation to ensure availability of funds. ACH does not. If an ACH request is processed and there is NSF, there is a $3.00 charge. This is charged by the ACH merchant account provider, and we do not have any control over this rate.Is my account information safe?
Yes, your account is more then safe with SimpleGive. We take security very seriously. All information is encrypted with 256 bith from the your web browser to the merchant provider and then onto the actual bank. Only recurring information is stored on SimpleGive servers. All other payment information is erased from our servers seconds after it is submitted. The actual servers are located in an underground secure facility in Florida. All information that is stored on our data base is not easily found and is stored in several different locations.
